Major Lazer.

Photobucket

Where to start with Major Lazer? Diplo and Switch are the two most wanted and talked about producers in dance music at the moment. They've both been around for a while, creating amazing music that gets everybody dancing. But who would have thought when they colided they would have created this? The Major Lazer album is not what anybody expected, but its brilliant. Cant stop listening to it. All of the songs have something special and I'm telling you all now to buy this album. Its got an assortment of genres, none of the fidget or electro like Diplo or Switch's past productions. But all in all its one of my favorite albums of all time.

Here's one song to make you buy this album.

Major Harris Tells Jokes to The Streets

Been on holiday for the past week so I'm a feeling a bit of music catch-up is in order. Since I've come back I've been rinsing the (radio ripped) Nero mix of the new Streets song, In The Middle, better than Blinded By The Lights and I can't wait to get my hands on a decent version of it. The new Fake Blood mix of Calvin Harris ain't too bad either, typical FB reverberating bassline but more subtle than tracks of old. Nice to see the return of the chopped up vocals to make Harris force out: "lick the Fake Blood from your finger".

Here's some of the stuff I've been bouncing/skanking/chilling to since I got back.

Calvin Harris - Ready for the Weekend (Fake Blood Remix) [mp3]
Major Lazer - Cash Flow (Classixx Glass Bottom Dub) [mp3]
The Streets - In The Middle (Nero Remix - radio rip) [mp3]
Joker & Ginz - Purple City [mp3]

Got this mix from The Fat! Club late last week too - real bouncy bassline ravey dubby fun all the way through, and it kicks off with an absolute choon from the 90's. Lovin' it lovin' it lovin' it.......

All fun and games

Sorry, i've been procrastinating as far as updating the blog has been going. I will make more of an effort to update this more often next week. Most of the people on this blog will have heard of Joker but for those that haven't you should check out this Bristol based programmer/producer. At a young age, Joker is already making a mark on both the uk dubstep scene and as a grime producer and his innovative new look on bass heavy music is refreshing and stellar.

Big news.

Laidback Luke & Diplo - Hey! (Foamo Remix - Full/128kbps) [mp3] ♥♥♥

Come Grime With Me

Come Dine With Me spin off with L-Vis 1990, Bok Bok, Donaeo, Manara and Warrior Queen. Listen out for L-Vis' bass heavy edit of the theme tune ! L-Vis and Bok-Bok have been taking over London with their night - Nightslugs, dedicated to gutter house + heavy bass music (for a better knowledge of the two, check SUPRA1's mix for lower end spasm here). Make sure to get any productions you can from these two.
